This piece was completed when I was an artist-in-residence at Guadalupe Mountains National Park in the spring of 2018. I saw each of these flowers blooming during my time at the park, and the insects were mostly drawn from the park’s specimen collection. One exception is the small Diadasia bee over the yellow cactus flower—that one was mailed to me by a Logan Bee Lab scientist, who acted as an advisor for this painting and wanted to make sure I had the right bee for the flower. The original painting is in the visitor center at the park.

This 18” x 17″ giclée is printed with archival inks onto matte archival art paper. It’s backed by foamcore board, and signed in pencil on the front.

Size (Unmatted, in Inches): 18″ x 17″
