Nectarinia senegalensis and Aloe arborescens

Torch aloe is native to South Africa and is pollinated by birds, such as these lovely scarlet-chested sunbirds (female on left, male on right). Here in California, where the aloes grow beautifully, hummingbirds love visiting the bright orange-red flowers for nectar.

The flowers and birds are painted at life-size.

This 22 x 30″ giclee is printed with archival inks onto matte archival art paper. It’s backed by foamcore board, and signed in pencil on the front.

Size (Unmatted, in Inches): 21″ x 30″

Year: 2010
