Chrysochus cobaltinus and Asclepias californica
On a backpacking trip with my husband in Los Padres National Forest, we came across dozens of blooming milkweed plants, each host to masses of iridescent blue beetles. They were so beautiful (and unexpected!) that I couldn’t stop thinking about them, and a few years later, painted them as part of a series of insects and host plants.
This 5.5” x 5.5″ giclee is printed with archival inks onto matte archival art paper (there is a white border around the image to allow for framing). It’s backed by foamcore board, and signed in pencil on the front.
Size (Unmatted, in Inches): 5.5″ x 5.5″
Year: 2015
