Chrysina beyeri and Quercus oblongifolia
Beyer’s scarab (Chrysina beyeri) is a lovely lime-green beetle native to the American southwest and Mexico. This jewel scarab really does have metallic lavender legs! It is pictured here with one of its host plants, Mexican blue oak (Quercus oblongifolia). This is one in a series of paintings of insects with their host plants.
This 5.5” x 5.5″ giclee is printed with archival inks onto matte archival art paper (there is a white border around the image to allow for framing). It’s backed by foamcore board, and signed in pencil on the front.
Size (Unmatted, in Inches): 5.5″ x 5.5″
Year: 2012
